Trauma does not exist in silos, and neither should responses to it. Cross-sector collaboration is essential to building holistic, contextualised systems that recognise people’s full experiences and needs. Working together across sectors and with communities strengthens relationships and reduces fragmentation.
Priority
Establish a trauma-informed task force, supported and convened by London’s VRU. This task force will support a comprehensive strategy to coordinate and embed trauma-informed practice throughout London’s public sectors, commissioned networks, and wider spheres of influence.
Endorse and use the London-wide definition of trauma-informed practice to align language and shared purpose across sectors.
Break Down Silos and Strengthen Infrastructure: Continue convening cross-sector partnerships, senior leadership forums, and elevate voices of trauma-informed champions.
To further system collaboration London’s VRU should
Use their positioning across London to encourage collective, sustained progress through peer support and an ongoing cross-sector Trauma-Informed Community of Practice. This will particularly support dissemination of best practice across fragmented systems such as between local authorities and help to interpret the taskforce strategies into practice.
